HAZEL ROSS ARTWORK ON DISPLAY THROUGH MAY AT WILLIAM HERRICK LIBRARY IN LA MESA

March 29,2011 (La Meas)--The Dr. William C. Herrick Community Health Care Library, a consumer health library in La Mesa, is featuring an exhibit of 22 paintings by El Cajon resident Hazel Ross. The paintings include Ross’ signature watercolor landscapes and portraits in pastel.  Art will be on exhibit now through the month of May.

 

A native of Arran, an island off the coast of Scotland, Ross has studied art at Edinburgh University and in France. Her paintings are in collections throughout Europe, as well as in Australia, Japan, Canada and the U.S. In 1999, she relocated to El Cajon and is currently the programs and education chair for the Foothills Art Association, a non-profit group of local artists who benefit through advancement of artistic creativity in partnership with the community.

 

Admission to the art exhibit is free. The Herrick Library is open to the public during regular library hours, which are from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays, from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesdays through Fridays, and from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays.

 

The Herrick Library, a public library that in 2002, specializing in health research information, accessible both on-site and via the Internet. It is operated by the Grossmont Healthcare District, a public agency that supports health-related community programs and services in San Diego’s East County.
