August 1, 2011 (Lemon Grove)--The Lemon Grove Historical Society will prevent “a hilarious 19th century melodrama adopted to Lemon Grove, California,” says Helen Ofield, president of the organization. “He Ain’t Done Right By Nell” is set in 1906 in the heydey of the town's citrus packing industry.  Seven showings will be held from September 16 to September 25.

“The plot hinges on the villain’s efforts to seize control of the Lemon Grove Fruit Packing Plant and win the plucky heroine, Nell,” Ofield noted. But the villain doesn't know that Nell has connections in high places.

Tickets cost $7 for children, seniors, military and Lemon Grove Historical Society members and $10 for all others. Checks to reserve tickets can be mailed to the LGHS at P.O. Box 625, Lemon Grove, CA 91946.

Performances will be held on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 16 and 17 at 7 p.m. and a Sunday matinee, Sept. 18 at 2 p.m. in the H. Lee House Cultural Center, 3205 Olive, Lemon Grove. In addition, on Sept. 23 and 24 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 25 at 2 p.m. additional showings will be held in the historic 1909 Forward Club (also known as Sonrise Hall at the First Baptist Church), 2910 Main Street, Lemon Grove.
