October 4, 2019 (Rancho San Diego) -- A Cajon Valley School District Ford pickup towing a trailer veered into the path of an oncoming Ford Fusion sedan this morning on Avocado Boulevard near Mount Helix, the California Highway Patrol reports. The head-on collision sent the vehicles careening into the front yard of a home, injuring both drivers and an infant in a child safety seat.

CHP public affairs officer Jeff Christy says the school district employee, 55, made an “unsafe turning movement” and lost control of his work vehicle.  Alcohol was not a factor in the accident, according to Christy.

The Ford Fusion was driven by a 23-year-old woman from El Cajon.

The adults suffered serious but non-life-threatening trauma. The baby’s injuries are considered minor.
