August 15, 2017 (La Mesa) -- Choosing a citizens’ advisory committee will be on the agenda (item 9) this Wednesday for the Helix Water Board. The board is considering creating the advisory group to allow ratepayers to provide feedback on assigned topics that could include water rates, budgets, conservation, strategic planning and more.

The proposed action reflects a shift in priorities with newly elected board members swept into office on a promise of reducing rates and greater responsiveness to the public.

The meeting will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday, August 16 at the Helix Water District headquarters, 7811 University Avenue, La Mesa.  View full agenda.

The board will also vote on a staff recommendation to award a contract for moving water lines due to a County redesign of streets at Fuerte Drive and Alzeda Drive due to numerous accidents there. The County is required to reimburse Helix for this cost
