January 27, 2011 (San Diego) – A high wind warning has been issued for San Diego County’s mountain areas through 2 p.m. today. Northeast winds from 20-30 mph with gusts from 50-60 mph are expected in and below mountain passes. A wind advisory has been issued for the rest of the county.

Strong winds will make driving difficult this morning for motorists with high-profile vehicles. A high wind warning is considered a hazardous event. Sustain winds of 40 mph or gusts of 58 mph or more can lead to property damage, the National Weather Service advises.
