April 25, 2019 (Lemon Grove) - The Lemon Grove Historical Society continues its free "History Alive" series with award-winning historian Alexander Bevil on May 2 at 7 pm in the H. Lee House Cultural Center, 3205 Olive, Lemon Grove.

In words and pictures, Bevil will reveal the story behind the forgotten "Garden of the Dead" at Presidio Park in San Diego wherein are buried noted pioneers stretching back centuries. Father Junipero Serra said, "Their names are known only to God."  Wherefore is this hallowed ground forsaken, all but abandoned? Bevil is on the case. Don't miss this!

"History Alive" is suitable for ages 18 and over.  More information: 619-460-4353.

Videotaping lectures for scholarly research is made possible by a Community Enhancement Grant from the San Diego County Boaard of Supervisors on the recommendation of Supervisor Dianne Jacob, District 2. Ancillary costs of the series are underwritten in part by the Mary England Endowment for Education.
