HISTORY ON THE MARCH: 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF VOTING RIGHTS FOR WOMEN

August 25, 2011 (San Diego) San Diego Women's History Museum invites you to grab your banners, your signs and your 1911 hats and join with women from all over San Diego and our state in the California Suffrage Parade today.

 

Meet at 4:30 p.m. at the Kate Sessons Statue on the 6th Avenue side of Balboa Park. The parade will march across the Laurel Street Bridge to the Organ Pavilion and beyond. At 5 p.m., a program wll be held feature Christine Kehoe and Assemblywoman Toni Atkins. The march will begin at 5:30. A free concert in the organ pavilion will follow.Participants may also join a picnic on the grass next to the United Nations Building.
