HOME INVASION IN LA MESA

December 19, 2011 (La Mesa)—A man taking out his trash outside an apartment complex at 7407 Alvarado Road was accosted by a gunman at 11:09 p.m. last night. The gunman forced the man into his apartment and ordered the victim and his wife to get on the ground; they complied.
 
According to La Mesa Police, “The suspected appeared to be startled by an unknown source and fled the area on foot.” There was no loss and the victims were not injured.

 
A search of the area by La Mesa Police and the Sheriff’s ASTREA helicopter did not find the suspect, who is still outstanding. The suspect is described as a Hispanic man, 20-30 years old, with a bandana covering his face. He wore jeans and a dark hoodie jacket. The weapon was described as a large caliber revolver with a wooden handle.
