November 17, 2018 (Santee) — The 2018 Santee Holiday Lighting Celebration was held on November 16th at Santee Trolley Square.  At 6:15 p.m., with thousands watching, the tree was lit with accompanying fireworks.

Rachel Escudero of Santee, with her 4-year-old son, Ethan, and other  members took advantage of the free horse drawn carriage ride.  Escudero said this is the third year they have come.

Mark Matson, with the Temecula Carriage Company, was the driver of a decorated trolley carriage.  Blossom, a Belgian, and Chewy, a Clydesdale, pulled the festive carriage around the parking lot.  Luna, a boxer/lab mix dog, was also onboard to greet the riders.  The trips were free.

The celebration included live music, snow sledding, crafts, photos with Santa, carolers, and much more to kick-off the holiday season.
