April 13, 2012 (San Diego) -- Detectives from the San Diego Police Department’s Northeastern Division have released the name of a male responsible for a series of indecent exposure cases in Rancho Bernardo and Mira Mesa over the past two years.

As previously reported, San Diego Police Department officers and detectives investigated numerous cases of indecent exposure involving the suspect since January 2010.  The incidents generally occurred in the morning hours and involved high school age girls walking to school.  The male would typically walk very near the victims and expose himself or he would expose himself and call to the victims to attract their attention to his actions.

On March 26, shortly before 7:00 a.m., in an effort to capture or identify the suspect, plain clothes investigators were in the area of Mira Mesa High School walking with previous victims.  A detective saw a male matching the suspect description drive into the area.  The previous victims saw the male and recognized him as the suspect who had exposed himself to them.  David Allen Kemper, 52, was arrested without incident.

On April 11, Kemper, a registered sex offender, plead guilty to 5 counts of indecent exposure with a prior conviction.  Kemper will be sentenced on May 9.  He faces 3 years in prison.
