October 8, 2012 (Poway) – The Tournament of the Phoenix and Festival of History is October 26 – 28 at the Poway Rodeo grounds, 14336 Tierra Bonita Rd., Poway. The event is a three-day, six-segment competitive sporting event, with entertainment and activities.
Unlike events at Renaissance fairs, these jousting competitions are not staged or choreographed. The competitors are top professional athletes representing their home countries in both foot and mounted combat; yes, the armor is real!
The cost to attend the event is $18 per day for adults 13-61. Seniors, military and children are $15 per day with children under 4 being free.
