February 28, 2010 (Lakeside) – What could be sweeter than plump, ripe, just-picked strawberries?

Victoria’s Gardens offers guests the opportunity to pick their own berries on a working farm—and also enjoy family fun activities that include a petting zoo, giant slides, train rides, pony rides, hay rides, fun jump and more.

Berry-picking costs $4 to $12, depending on the size of the basket selected. All strawberries are chemical-free. Strawberries are available through June.

Admission to the gardens is free, including a free flower maze and straw play ground. There is also a package deal that includes unlimited rides for $15 a person for all day. Or purchase tickets separately for an obstacle course ($3), giant slides ($3), petting zoo ($3), train rides ($3), pony rides ($4), hay rides ($2), or fun jump ($2). Feed for animals costs 25 cents in the petting zoo.

The facility also offers education field trips for groups of 10 children or more. In addition, birthday party packages are available for groups of ten or more.

Victoria’s Gardens is located at 13120 Willow Road in Lakeside, at the intersection of Wildcat Canyon Road. The farm is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
