April 1, 2016 (La Mesa) - The La Mesa Chamber of Commerce has issued a warning about a scam targeting its members. See text below:

It has come to our attention that there are phone-calls being made from 888-001-0816 stating they are calling from the La Mesa Chamber of Commerce. The caller is asking information about our business members potential move to a new location. We know that the caller is gathering your address and phone number for some type of unknown future use.

THESE PHONE CALLS ARE NOT COMING FROM THE LA MESA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE!

When the Chamber contacts our members, the caller ID/phone number will be 619-465-7700 from the La Mesa Chamber Office or from Mary England's cell phone at 619-251-7730.

WE WOULD NEVER NEED TO ASK PERSONAL INFORMATION FROM OUR CHAMBER MEMBERS.

We have contacted the La Mesa Police Department about this issue.
