January 22, 2012 (La Mesa)—Do you have the “write stuff to be a novelist or nonfiction writer?” Want to learn about the literary world or meet local authors? From romance writing to knights and chivalry, from political figures to an e-book publishing expert, you’ll find it all at the first annual La Mesa Readers and Writers Festival.

This informative event will be held on Saturday, February 25 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the La Mesa Library, 8074 Allison Avenue, La Mesa to usher in the city's Centennial celebration.

The festival will feature special presentations by guest speakers and “reading corners” to hear children’s authors and poets.

Meet local authors (including Laurel Corona, Roger Conlee, Marjorie Hart, Linda Loegel) of children’s books, fiction and non-fiction novels, and poetry

Join “Reading Corners” in the library to hear children’s authors and poets

Special Presentations by:

  •  Honorable Dick Murphy - Describing his book about the San Diego he knew as mayor
  •  David Wogahn – Expert on e-book publishing explains it all to you
  •  Romance writers panel – Discussions about their genre
  •  San Diego Women Writers panel
  •  Chivalry & Knighthood expert Scott Farrell
