September 3, 2015 (La Mesa) -- Are you part of a group looking for a community project? If so, you can help make La Mesa beautiful. We have special projects in several of La Mesa’s 14 parks that may be the perfect fit for your organization’s community service endeavors.

Park Appreciation Day is an annual event when volunteers from throughout the community come out to help spruce up their favorite park. Special projects in some of the parks, such as painting and planting, are suitable for groups. La Mesa’s parks are our jewels, help make them shine.

All ages are welcome to participate. Groups with children under age 18 must have adult supervision. There will be projects suitable for organizations such as scout troops, faith-based groups, civic clubs, and social groups.

Call 619.667.1304 or email Recreation@ci.la-mesa.ca.us and our Park Appreciation Coordinator will answer your questions and help match your group to a project everyone can do. Signed waivers will be required at the parks – get the waiver online at www.cityoflamesa.com/ParkAppreciationWaiver
