LA MESA POLICE ARREST 2 “HOT PROWL” BURGLARS

June 18, 2011 (La Mesa)—La Mesa Police have arrested two juveniles linked to burglaries in the community.

 

A woman living at a condominium complex at 5700 Baltimore Drive called 911 on June 15 around 3:57 p.m. to report an attempted burglary. She told police that two males knocked on her door for several minutes, but she didn’t answer because she did not recognize them. Soon, after she heard her kitchen window screen being removed and saw one of the strangers entering through the window.

 

She shouted and the suspect fled the scene. LA Mesa Police officers and the San Diego Sheriff’s ASTREA helicopter searched the area. Officers found and detained two African-American juveniles, 16 and 17, both from La Mesa, a few blocks away. According to La Mesa Police, they were confirmed to be the burglary suspects and also possessed a loaded, concealed, stolen handgun from another recent La Mesa residential burglary.

 

The both suspects were taken to Juvenile Hall and will be charged with burglary and possession of stolen property. The 16 year old was also charged with possession of a loaded concealed gu.
