LA MESA POLICE CITE, WARN 342 MOTORISTS FOR TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS IN ENFORCEMENT ACTION

February 20, 2019 (La Mesa) -- Today, the La Mesa Police Department’s Traffic Unit hosted the County-wide Inter-agency Traffic Enforcement Team which consists of motorcycle traffic enforcement officers from all over the County of San Diego, who meet once a month for the specific purpose of targeting primary collision factors and reducing traffic violations in problem areas.

“We are happy to say that today’s detail was a success and is sure to help make our roadways a safer place for everyone that travels upon them.  Thanks to the efforts of everyone involved 342 motorists were stopped and issued citations and/or verbal warnings for a variety of moving violations and an additional 12 vehicles were impounded for driver’s license violations,” a press release from LMPD states.

Today’s detail was operational from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  La Mesa PD was assisted by Carlsbad PD, Chula Vista PD, Coronado PD, Escondido PD, Oceanside PD, SD Sheriff, and UCSD Police. The enforcement action aims to reduce injuries caused by traffic violations.
