August 8, 2019 (La Mesa) - Continuing with the National Night Out celebration, the La Mesa Police Department and Heartland Fire and Rescue will be hosting the 8 th Annual Safety Fair on Saturday, August 10th, 2019. The event will run from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in the La Mesa Police Department parking lot.

This event is free to the public and will feature many interactive displays on safety and crime prevention related issues, information on Driving Under the Influence (DUI) prevention, and demonstrations by our Special Response Team (SWAT). Attendees will be able to check out our police vehicles and a Heartland fire truck. Specifically for kids, there will be fingerprinting and a jump house. Guided tours of the Police Department will depart regularly from the event.

Hot dogs, chips and water, generously donated by 7-11 Stores, will be provided free of charge. During the event, Target, the National Night Out sponsor, is generously providing giveaways to the public as well.

Additional participants include: La Mesa Community Services, Ready America, AT&T Distracted Driving Campaign, FBI, C.E.R.T, San Diego County Aging and Independence Services, Sharp Hospital, SDG&E and San Diego Crime Stoppers.
