LA MESA POLICE TO HOST ROBBERY FORUM ON NOVEMBER 1, 2011

October 24, 2011 (La Mesa) -- In light of recent robberies that have occurred in the City of La Mesa and in San Diego County, the La Mesa Police Department is hosting a Robbery Forum for business owners and employees working in La Mesa. The forum will provide information about robberies and how the police department can work with its business partners to address these crimes.

 
This community forum will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2011, from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm, in the La Mesa Police Department’s Community Room. Representatives from the La Mesa Police Department will present information on robbery awareness and prevention, employee safety and what to do during and after a robbery.
 
The police department invites business managers, supervisors and employees to attend the forum. Instruction during the forum will focus on employees working the following type 24-hour businesses, which are typically targeted by criminals during the evening hours:
 
  • Convenience stores                           
  • Gas Stations
  • Fast Food restaurants
  • Liquor stores
  • Grocery stores
  • Hotels / Motels
