September 11, 2012 (La Mesa) – Safe Routes to School is not just for kids anymore.  Join your neighbors and help make the community safer.  Volunteer for the City of La Mesa’s Walk-n-Roll Safe Routes to School intergenerational program.

Walk-n-Roll volunteers commit a small amount of time each week to monitor school neighborhoods, provide pedestrian and bicycle safety tips, deter unsafe behaviors and simply be the “Eyes on the Street” as students walk or bike to and from school.  Volunteers are able to choose the days and times they wish to volunteer.  Orientation, safety vests and ongoing training and support are provided.

All city volunteers must complete a volunteer application and background check.
