February 22, 2017 (Lakeside) – From a 5K run/walk to the ever popular Boars and Brew fest, classes, hikes, a gala and a haunted trail, Lakeside  River Park Conservancy has a wealth of fascinating events coming up this year.

San Diego River Run, Walk, and Ride 5k

Lakeside's River Park Conservancy has brought this event back to our river trail in Lakeside for a new look at your annual San Diego River Run. Held in the morning, this run encourages our community to come enjoy the 5k along the San Diego River, officially sanctioned by USATF.

Boars and Brew

One of our most popular events at the River Park, the Boars and Brew invites our community down to sample some beer and enjoy some great food. Bring your family and friends and enjoy a beer stroll along the River Trail.

Once in a Blue Moon Gala

Lakeside's River Park Conservancy's signature annual fundraising event will be held in September this year. Come hang out with us underneath the full moon at the beautiful Hering Ranch.

Halloween Haunted Trail

Come join us at our brand new event at the River Park! Bring the whole family on a spooky Old Western walking trail adventure, where you never know if you might run into a ghostly cowboy or two that haunt the river trail.

Mosquitos: Fight the Bite!


February 25th, 10:00 a.m.

With Zika and West Nile in the news, now is a perfect time to educate ourselves. SD Vector Control's Michelle Christian lends us her expertise on these fascinating insects.

Native Plant Tour

April 8th, 10:00 a.m.

Get in touch with the trail like never before, and join Amy Huie, our 2015 Volunteer of the Year, on a guided walk of the River Park. Along the way, learn about California native plants, species that you can find in your own backyard!

Raising Chickens

April 29th, 11:00 a.m.

Learn how to raise chickens in your own backyard! In this talk, Richard will give us all the details on maintaining a coop - tips, tricks, and trials.

Bees and Honey

May 13th, 11:00 a.m.

They're awesome, they're essential, and they're... vanishing? As a third-generation beekeeper, Richard Edwards knows bees. Tap into his vast knowledge at this riveting talk (and maybe even get your hands on some of his delicious honey).

Heritage Turkeys

June 17, 11:00 a.m.

They're much more than a Thanksgiving staple; heritage-breed turkeys have an interesting place in San Diego's history. Hear all about it, and even see the bird in person at this year's final talk from Richard Edwards.
