January 22, 2013 (San Diego’s East County) – Leash Your Fitness, announces a six-week series of fitness challenges to help you get in shape after the holidays—while getting a workout for your dog, too.

“Our first three challenges were very successful for all of the participants,” said founder Dawn Celapino, whose motto is “Life is short! Exercise with your dog.”  The kick-off to the Fitness Challenge will be held at Marking Pet Resort on Sunday, January 27 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.  The program runs for 6 weeks and is an online program open to anyone who wants to participate.

The course also includes before and after measurements (cardio, upper and lower body strength and core), daily posts on a private Facebook page with healthy recipes, nutrition tips, exercise challenges, recommendations and motivation to keep participants on track, plus a grocery store tour.

El Cajon Resident Crystal Nelson says about LYF “Thank you for this new fitness idea to workout with our dogs. I have tried other avenues but never really enjoyed myself. I find working out fun now and think I have found something I’ll stick with.”

A grand prize of $200 in Leash Your Fitness credits will be issued to the winner of the fitness challenge.  Cost for the course is $85 for local residents. Out of state residents can also participate for $55, but are not eligible for the prize.
