September 14, 2018 (San Diego) -- San Diego-based International Relief Teams (IRT) is supplying relief aid to victims of Hurricane Florence on the East Coast. The hurricane is expected to cause massive damage from dangerous storm surges, coastal flooding, and unprecedented inland rainfall.

States of emergency have been declared in the Carolinas, Virginia, Maryland, and Georgia and more than one million people are under mandatory evacuation orders. A half million are currently without power.

To help families impacted by Hurricane Florence, please go to www.irteams.org/donate or mail a donation to 4560 Alvarado Canyon Rd, Suite 1H, San Diego, CA  92120.

As an initial response in anticipation of catastrophic damage and flooding from Hurricane Florence, IRT has already pre-positioned disaster health kits at evacuation centers in North Carolina. IRT has also purchased 5,400 ready-to-eat meals. Once the storm has passed, they will be trucked into the hardest hit areas and will be delivered to evacuation centers where they are most needed.

IRT has 30 years of experience in assisting victims of disasters, both nationally and internationally. IRT has already delivered more than $1.3 million in aid to the victims of last year’s hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria, and plans to deliver significant ongoing help to the victims of Hurricane Florence.

International Relief Teams alleviates the suffering caused by poverty and disaster around the globe, from the forgotten corners of the world to right here at home, by sending volunteer teams and medical supplies to make immediate change for the world’s most vulnerable people.
