MAN ARRESTED FOR SHOOTING WOMAN IN SPRING VALLEY

August 29, 2017 (Spring Valley) – Jaquan Ramsay, 30, has been arrested for allegedly shooting a woman in Spring Valley this afternoon.  The victim, described by authorities as a black female adult, suffered a gunshot wound to her right hand and left arm.

According to Sergeant Karla Menzies with the San Diego Sheriff’s department, Rancho San Diego deputies responded to a 911 call in the 8400 block of Paseo Iglesia, where they found the victim and several witnesses next to her car. She was taken to a hospital for treatment of her injuries, while deputies with help from the Sheriff’s ASTREA helicopter, a K-9 and area detectives searched the area.

A perimeter was set up and deputies searched several nearby apartment complexes before locating Ramsay, who was arrested without incident.  The handgun used to commit the crime was recovered at the crime scene.

Rancho San Diego detectives are conducting the investigation.
