May 9, 2019 (El Cajon) – El Cajon Police have arrested a suspect accused of beating another man with a stick.  Officers responded to a call yesterday at 2 p.m. reporting an injured person at a strip mall at 300 North Second St.

They found the victim suffering from a head injury.  The victim died shortly after being transported to a local hospital by paramedics.

Witnesses provided suspect information to the officers and a suspect was taken into custody a short distance from where the victim was located.

“The witnesses told officers that the suspect attacked the victim with a stick shortly after an argument between the two of them,” Lt. Walt Miller says.

Investigators are trying to determine if the suspect and the victim knew each other prior to the incident and what may have led to the attack. There are no suspects outstanding.

Authorities have not released the identities of the victim or suspect.
