September 2, 2012 (El Cajon) – An El Cajon resident awoke this morning to find a dead man in the swimming pool of her home on Terrace Crest shortly after 8 a.m.  El Cajon Police and firefighters responded and determined that the victim, who had no signs of trauma, had been dead for several hours.

The County Medical Examiner has identified the victim has Jose Luis Rodriguez, a transient who was unmarried.

Earlier this morning, around 4 a.m., police received multiple calls reporting a man running through yards on Terrace Crest. One person said the man had jumped a fence into a back yard. A caller stated that the man appeared as if he may have been under the influence of drugs, Lt. Tim Henton stated in a media release.

The victim in the pool matched the description of the suspicious person given by one of the reporting parties from earlier in the morning.
