January 11, 2019 (Santee) — The Sheriff’s department seeks public help to find a white male in a dirty, newer model white Ford F-150 pickup truck lifted rims. The driver reportedly  tried to trick a 12-year-old boy into accepting a ride. The suspect is described as in his 40s with short blond hair, stubble on his face, wearing a brown Hurley baseball cap and short-sleeved plaid shirt in white and blue.

Yesterday around 3:15 p.m., the boy was walking home from Rio Seco School in Santee near 9901 Riverwalk Drive when the man pulled up and said he’d been sent by the boy’s father to pick him up.

The man told the boy to get in the truck. Instead, the boy ran to a nearby apartment complex. The suspect was last seen driving east on Riverwalk Driver.

The boy’s mother told authorities that neither she nor the boy’s father had asked anyone to pick up their son, Sheriff’s spokesman Joe Pasaslacqua says.
