June 1, 2018 (Descanso) - You don’t want to miss the 49th Annual Descanso Days Parade and Fair on Saturday, July 7th. The parade starts at 10:00 am but be sure to get your spot early. The road closes at 9:30 a.m. and the fair will begin following the parade. There is no admission fee.
This year’s theme is ‘Dog Days of Summer’ and we are very pleased to announce that Paws for Purple Hearts, who train therapy dogs for veterans, are among the many groups that will be at the fair in keeping with the theme.
There will be live country music from 12:00 – 5:00 by Hill Country, and as always, we’ll have beer & wine, sodas, good food, vendor booths and more! There will be a kids’ area behind the bandstand with face painting & crafts. Kids can make a craft and take it home. There is no charge for kids’ activities.
Everyone is welcome and if you’re new to the area, this is a great time to meet residents and experience our terrific community!
If you wish to be in the parade, entry forms are available at Perkins Market and also at the Descanso Junction restaurant. There is no entry fee.

This is the Town Hall’s main fundraiser, with proceeds going toward maintaining the building and the grounds. We rely on volunteers to help make this event a success. Volunteers are needed and if you have a couple of hours you could spare, please contact Jae Dina at 619-445-1297.
