Update: Missing teen Calvin Kilonzo has been located. According to La Mesa Police, he left voluntarily and has since returned home.

July 25, 2012 (La Mesa)—La Mesa Police are looking for Calvin Mutiza Kilonzo, who has been missing since July 21. A caller who identified himself as Benjamin told Kilonzo’s mother and told her that Kilonzo had been taken away in a Jeep against his will.

Police responded last night at 10 p.m. to the report of a missing person with suspicious circumstances at 4744 70th Street in La Mesa.

Officers learned that Calvin Mutiza Kilonzo, 19, has been missing since July 21.  His mother told officers that it was not uncommon for Kilonzo to go away on weekends to hang out with his friends, but on July 22, she received the disturbing phone call.  Benjamin told her that he believed Kilonzo would be safe and would be home on Monday, July 23.

When Kilonzo did not return home on Monday, his mother became concerned and called Police to report Kilonzo missing.

Benjamin claimed to be a friend of Kilonzo, but Kilonzo’s mother does not know him.  Attempts to contact Benjamin have been unsuccessful.  There is no information about where Kilonzo may be, or where he was last seen by Benjamin.

If you have any information on this case, please call the La Mesa Police Department at (619) 667-1400

Missing son

What a punk to put his family and community in a panic regarding his safety. He should be responsible for re-payment of law enforcement resources, news postings and grief.
