December 23, 2010 (La Mesa) 8:25 p.m. - Missing teen Sara Rafou, 19, has been found, reports La Mesa Police Captain Ed Aceves. "Sara Rafou was located in San Diego County at 7:45 pm tonight. Sara is safe and as an adult she made a decision to separate herself from her family," a press release issued moments ago by La Mesa Police reveals. "It appears that evidence was staged in her vehicle to make it look like foul play was involved."

La Mesa Police Detectives with the assistance of the California DOJ Bureau of Investigation and Intelligence have been conducting numerous interviews, following extensive leads and sorting through evidence in an effort to locate the teen, who left work at Bank of America in Grossmont Center at 6:30 p.m. Her family reported her missing at 12:07 a.m..  Evidence found in her beige Ultima Nissan car, which was parked near the Target store also in Grossmont Center, had led authorities to conclude that her disappearance was under suspicious circumstances.
