MOM ROBBED WHILE HOLDING TODDLER IN LA MESA

October 14, 2012 (La Mesa)—A woman carrying her 2-year-old child in the 8000 block of University Avenue in La Mesa was pushed  from behind, then robbed of her purse at 7:30 p.m. last night. 

According to La Mesa Police, the victim was crossing the street when the man shoved her in the back, then stole her purse and fled.  Neither the woman nor her child were injured.  The suspect remains at large.

The suspect was last seen running north on Culowee Street from University.Officers searched the surrounding areas with the assistance of San Diego Sheriff Department’s K-9, but were unable to locate the suspect.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5’9”, 35 years old, medium build, wearing a gray colored jacket with a red or gray hood, a dark colored baseball cap, and dark gray pants.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the La Mesa Police Department.
