Please join us for an Artist Reception on Saturday, January 5th from 6-8 p.m. We will be serving wine + cheese and you’ll have the opportunity to view new local art!  We support the local artists in San Diego County by displaying and selling their work.  It is always amazing to me how many have such beautiful pieces right here in our own back yard.  For each show we look for a variety of art ranging from 3 dimensional art to pottery, wood working, acrylic, oil and watercolor as well as mixed media. This show is no different.  We hope that you will stop by with  family and friends to meet the artists and enjoy a fun evening at Nainsook Framing + Art.

Intermediate Watercolor – “I’m So Crabby!”

This colorful crab will be fun to paint!  Learn how to mix multiple colors to make your painting fun and alive! This class will include learning how to do multiple washes to create a variety of colors, using mastic to save whites, using salt for texture all with a limited palette to create beautiful translucent watercolor.

This is an intermediate class. You should have some experience with watercolor.  All materials provided, however if you have your own brushes and paints please bring them as you may be finishing this one at home!

Intro to Watercolor – “Free As A Bird”

We’ll be painting a colorful Macaw.  In this introductory watercolor class you will learn more direct painting and shading techniques  Learn how to create a soft background that sets the mood, save your whites, and blend wet into wet to make your painting fun and alive!  This is an introductory class.  NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY  All materials and snacks will be provided.

Grunge and Beauty Swimmer Mixed Media w/ Lisa Bebi

Learn to create a deeply textured and richly colored grunge mixed media piece that contrasts with a sweet little swimmer.  The texture comes from using a stencil with  GOLDEN’s Heavy Gel (matte).  The earthy colors are a combo of paint and dyes.  The image of the swimmer is colored and collaged into the piece.

You will leave with a finished piece on a 6″ x 8″ canvas.

Mosaic Workshop

Sunday, January 13, 2019 @ 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Join us for this SUNDAY(10-2) Mosaic Workshop. Create a mosaic design on a wooden tray or bring your own box, serving tray or other flat surface to mosaic. (Please no larger than 14×14.) Wood or metal will work for indoor use. There will be tons of brightly colored Spanish tiles + mastic available for your use.

Together will will create mosaic designs and set them.  Grouting will be done next day at home (you will leave with your choice of grey or white grout and instructions)

Bring lunch if you like.  Snacks will be served.

The price of the class is $40.  We will be using this wooden 12x8x2 tray (cost included in class fee)

Mosaic workshop includes a 12x8x2 serving tray to mosaic plus tiles, mastic and grout to take home for use the next day.
