NATIVE GARDEN PLANTING & COMMUNITY POTLUCK NOV. 20 IN SANTEE

November 14, 2010 (Santee) – Volunteers are needed on November 20 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon to help San Diego River Park Foundation complete creation of an East County native Plant Garden at the Edgemoore Polo Barn—future home to a museum on the history of East County and Santee.

Volunteers will help install native plants and trees that were used by Santee’s original residents, the Native Americans. Tools and supplies will be provided. Oaks, sages and other rare and endangered plants and trees will be planted. A pot luck lunch will follow.

 

Volunteers should dress in gardening clothes including closed shoes, hat and sunscreen. RSVP’s are requested as this is a limited, special volunteer event. Families and people of all ages are encouraged to join the activities.
