NEW MARTIAL ARTS ACADEMY OPENS DOORS, OFFERS FREE CLASS FOR COMMUNITY JUNE 15

June 5, 2013 (El Cajon) -- Aspire Martial Arts in Rancho San Diego will host a free Martial Arts fitness class for the entire community on Saturday June 15th from 2:00-4:00 p.m.

Aspire Martial Arts will offer these along with bully prevention seminars every 8-9 weeks. The seminars are part of the ATA Martial Arts’ worldwide initiative to help stop childhood obesity and bullying through education.

With active membership exceeding 350,000 worldwide and 1,200 schools in United States, ATA is positively positioned to reach the children and adults with the message of fitness and bully prevention.

Located in the Rancho San Diego Town & Country shopping center one block north of Jamacha Rd. & Fury Ln, the 1594 square foot state of the art training facility opened its doors as the first ever American Taekwondo Association and Extreme Martial Arts academy in Rancho San Diego.

The school interior colors have a warm sense of belonging with a family interactive lobby equipped with a 32” HDTV. The training floor is equipped with new industry Tsunami texture styled mats and 46” 3D HDTV.

Aspire Martial Arts offers a variety of programs focusing on safety, fitness and leadership for the entire family. Classes range from Tiny Tigers for children ages 3-6, Karate for Kids ages 7-13, Teens & Adults, Combat Fitness and the next generation of martial arts- XMA! XMA is fusion of all martial arts styles, gymnastics, modern dance movements, life and leadership skills blended together with performance arts, high-flying acrobatic maneuvers and the hottest movie-style action. Aspire Martial arts is the only authorized school in Rancho San Diego teaching this true XMA curriculum.

According to Aspire Martial Arts Chief Instructor Johnnie Morris (photo, right), education is the key to end childhood obesity and bullying.

“Children of all ages, gender and race are vulnerable to childhood obesity and bullying. Through age appropriate instruction, awareness of warning signs and activities such as child fitness classes and bullying prevention seminars, we hope to make a significant impact on the reducing childhood obesity and victims of bullying,” says Morris.

Owner, operator and Chief Instructor fourth degree, Morris grew up in San Diego.   He began his journey in martial arts in 1984 training in the American Taekwondo Association’s Songahm Taekwondo style.  At age 12, he earned his first degree black belt. At the age of 16 earned the rank of third degree black belt. After many different adventures in life he returned to his martial arts training.

Since his return Johnnie Morris recently was one the lead instructors for the past five years at one of the ATA “Top Ten” ranking schools.  Since then he has earned 20 California State Titles and 2012 ATA World Champion in Creative Weapons.

Johnnie Morris is married to Michelle Morris, who is also a member of the ATA and co-owner of Aspire Martial Arts. Their children Johnnie Morris Jr. age 18 and Priscilla Morris age 11, are also members of the ATA and  are high ranked color belts.

Aspire Martial Arts looks forward to being an active leader in Childhood Obesity Prevention and Bully Prevention at its new home in Rancho San Diego.
