April 16, 2014 (San Diego) - Have you ever wanted to create a new society from scratch?

FOX’s new unscripted social experiment series “UTOPIA” is searching for candidates to create a whole new world. Nationwide casting is now underway and we’re seeking motivated pioneers who have the ideas, skills and determination to create and run an ideal society. The actual casting event in San Diego will be the Earth Fair 2014. It will take place on Sunday, April 27th from 10AM - 5PM at Balboa Park.

“UTOPIA” follows 15 inhabitants as they leave their every day lives to move to an isolated and undeveloped location – for up to an entire year – and challenges them to create their own world. The series offers people from across America the chance to be part of a groundbreaking social experiment – the pioneers will make every decision about how they will live, work and what the rules and laws of “UTOPIA” will be.

CASTING is searching for candidates, “21 and over” who are passionate, great at what they do, and also have the problem solving skills needed for starting up a new society. If you think you have what is takes to create Utopia, then visit www.utopiatv.com to learn more and how to apply.

At this very moment, I am sure that San Diego, and particularly Balboa Park, is all abuzz with the prospect that someone(s) from the San Diego area has an opportunity to be a part of an exciting and groundbreaking social experiment; "UTOPIA." The contestants for this event are probably coming from near and afar to get a chance to be in this reality TV show, in which 15 inhabitants are followed as they leave their every day lives to move to an isolated and undeveloped location - for up to an entire year - and challenges them to create their own world. "Utopia" is the brainchild of Sheila Conlin, President/CEO of The Conlin Company, and the former tour manager of famed comedian Phyllis Diller. It is my understanding that Ms. Conlin will be a guest on the "East County Magazine Live!" radio show May 23rd, hosted by Reina MeNasche. Perhaps by then we will have a clearer picture as to who those lucky contestants might be.
