July 29, 2016 (San Diego) - The San Diego State women’s tennis team and four individuals were recognized for their efforts in the classroom by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

The team itself earned the ITA All-Academic Team award for having a cumulative grade-point average of 3.20 or above on a 4.00 scale. All varsity letterwinners are factored into the cumulative team GPA, which encompasses the fall 2015 and spring 2016 semesters.

Individually, Jana Buth, Paola Diaz de Regules, Tami Nguyen and Dora Somoracz were all named ITA Scholar-Athletes for having at least a 3.50 GPA for the 2015-16 academic year and having been at SDSU for at least two semesters. It marks the second straight season the quartet, as well as the team, has been honored by the ITA.

The announcement comes weeks after the Mountain West recognized the aforementioned foursome and Isabelle Hoorn as all-academic selections for the spring semester. Buth, Diaz de Regules and Nguyen, meanwhile, were also named Mountain West Scholar-Athletes.
