July 15, 2010 (San Diego’s East County)--The Jamacha Road Pipeline Project is nearing completion. When finished, the 5.1-mile water pipeline will run from Rancho San Diego to El Cajon.

Installation of the pipeline has occurred in Rancho San Diego and in some areas of El Cajon. Crews from CCL Construction will now connect the north and south portions of the pipeline along Gustavo Street and the final stretch of Jamacha Road.

After pressure testing occurs, final paving will take place. Pressure testing of the smaller 12-inch PVC pipes is in progress along Jamacha Road, between Hidden Mesa Road and Hillsdale Road. Pressure testing of the larger 36-inch diameter pipeline will occur in July and August. In the interim, CCL’s crews will continue to maintain the temporary paving. Final paving is scheduled for August. The pipeline is anticipated to be in service in late August 2010.
