March 9, 2011 (Mt. Helix Patch) -- Dozens of Helix Water District (HWD) and Padre Dam Municipal Water District customers turned out at a public meeting on Tuesday night to discuss the controversial El Monte Valley Mining, Reclamation and Groundwater Recharge Project.
The project essentially aims to purchase wastewater from Padre Dam and purify it using advanced technologies to create clean, sustainable drinking water for the district's more than 260,000 customers.
