PASSAGES: MEMORIAL FOR FRIEDA MOLINA, 97, APRIL 8 IN LEMON GROVE

April 6, 2011 (Lemon Grove) – Frieda Molina, 97, died March27 of congestive heart failure. A pillar of the Lemon Grove Historical Society and owner of one of Lemon Grove's most historic homes, she will be memorialized on April 8 at 11 a.m. at Lemon Grove Lutheran Church, 2055 Skyline Drive, Lemon Grove.

 

Since 1960, she and her late husband, Manuel Molina, owned the 1892 Troxell House on Olive Street, the third house built in Lemon Grove. She also protected the century old Moreton Bay fig trees that graced the hilltop home’s front yard. The home, with its extensive collection of antiques, was featured on a Lemon Grove Historical Society’s Historic Home Tour that drew hundreds of visitors.

 

Frieda Molina also ran assisted living facilities in California. She is survived by her daughter, Charlene Tappy.
