September 13, 2011 (El Cajon)--Call me cheap and easy.  You won’t be the first.  But I am OK with that.  I LOVE to wear jeans with the knees blown out.  It has become ‘my look’ but it is much more than that.  It is ME.  How bad is that?

You have to feel me on this.  It is probably not age appropriate.  True.  Like I cared.  You have to make a stronger case than that.  It is not ‘dressy’ for some occasions and situations.  OK.  I just wear heels with them and that is perfect.  Right? High heels dress up anything.

I am actually pretty fashion conscious and come by it honestly.  I spent more years than I care to admit in the fashion and image consulting business but that has nothing at all to do with my preference for these jeans.

It has a lot more to do with comfort.  If you haven’t worn any of these jeans, try it with caution.  You may not be able to go back to normal wear.  In nearly all situations for me, I can justify wearing these even if it a stretch sometimes.  If I were standing all the time, I would think they were just a little silly looking and not a lot more comfortable than any other jean.  But I am not.  Sitting is also part of my day – and driving.  Hands down, they win.  It is so hard to break a habit even if it is a good one.  But a bad one?  Come on.

In the past two or three years I have become even more entrenched in this fashion statement.  I truly hate the current faves – the skinny jean.  Number one, I am not skinny.  They are.  So, even in a dressing room, trying to sell myself on the idea of being up with the times, I can’t stand in front of that mirror without adjust something.  Then I run away.  You don’t want to spend that much of your life running from anything.

If you are thin enough to wear those skinny ones, you look anorexic.  I have never been thought of as anorexic.  Then if you have enough curves to dodge that moniker, you are ‘too curvy’.

I am just going to sit here in my torn jeans and wait for that fad to pass.

I have officially changed the name from torn to ‘kneesouts’.  They are definitely my ‘look’ and my comfort zone.  It replaces that old worn out bathrobe you look for all the time and you can actually get out of the house in them. What more can you ask for?  I am a lot easier to get along with.   So it is humane as well.
