PEDESTRIAN STRUCK BY HIT-AND-RUN DRIVER IN EL CAJON; POLICE SEEK WITNESSES

January 4, 2010 (El Cajon)  At 10:39 last night, El Cajon Police received a 911 call regarding a person down in the roadway at 500 Broadway. Responding officers found that the victim had been struck by a vehicle while crossing the street. He had major injuries to his leg and head.

 

The driver of the vehicle fled the scene after striking the victim. The suspect vehicle most likely has moderate to major front end damage.

 

 

The victim was transported to Sharp Memorial Hospital where he is undergoing treatment and is in critical condition.

 

There are no known witnesses to the collision. Anyone who witnessed this incident or has information regarding the identity of the driver is encouraged to call the El Cajon Police Department at (619) 579-3311. Anyone with information which leads to an arrest on this case could receive up to a $1,000 reward and remain anonymous by contacting Crime Stoppers.
