April 2, 2015 (La Mesa)—A police chase in La Mesa Thursday night ended when the suspect crashed into a car dealership.

The wild chase began after a homeowner on Saranac Street called 911 to report a prowler trying to break into his home.  La Mesa Police spotted a possible suspect leaving the scene. But when they tried to pull over the driver, he sped off.

When the chase reached Alvarado Road, the suspect lost control and crashed into a gate at the Bob Stall Chevrolet dealership, causing minor damage to several vehicles.

The homeowner identified the suspect, who was taken into custody, the Sheriff’s department reports.
