POLICE SEEK IDENTITY OF PEDESTRIAN KILLED BY VEHICLE IN EL CAJON

June 28, 2024 (El Cajon) – Police are seeking help to identify a man estimated at 50 to 60 years old who was struck and killed by a white Toyota Tacoma last night in El Cajon.
 
El Cajon Police officers and paramedics responded to a call reporting a pedestrian struck by a vehicle at 300 W. Chase last night around 10:52 p.m.. First responders determined that the unidentified pedestrian had died at the scene; he was not transported by medical personnel.

 
The driver of the 2020 white Toyota Tacoma that struck the victim remained on scene and has been fully cooperative with the investigation, says Lt. Darrin Forster, who adds, “At this point in the investigation, alcohol or drugs are not suspected to be a factor in the collision.”
 
The El Cajon Police Department is asking anyone with information regarding the collision to call (619) 579-3311. ECPD reminds those who walk at night to obey all traffic control devices, only cross the street at designated, controlled intersections, and wear bright or light colored clothing for visibility.
