December 11, 2011 – By just eight votes (15,885 to 15,877), Project Wildlife captured first place in the SDG&E Eco Ambassador’s People’s Choice Award.  Mission Trails Regional Park Foundation, which won second place, will receive a $10,000 grant.

“The funds will be used to expand our educational outreach program under the direction of Alicia Berg, one of our Education Program Instructors,” said Joe Morse, president of the MTRP Foundation. This $10,000 award, coupled with another $25,000 grant we recently received in partnership with the San Diego County YMCA from SDG&E through their 2011 Environmental Champions Awards, will positively impact over 1,000 children and many of their parents.”

Several other organizations participating in the contest, including the Lakeside River Park Conservancy, also received smaller grant funds in the program.
