By Reema Makani Boccia

May 4, 2018 (Rancho San Diego) -- With the average cost of prom around $1,000 per attendee, parents and students need ideas for how to have the full milestone experience without digging so deep into their wallets.

One great way to save without cutting corners is at Runway Shoes & Accessories in Rancho San Diego. The trendy discount boutique for fashionistas can offer a full “accessories ensemble” for less than $50, including shoes, purse, make up, hair accessories and more. These items can save upwards of hundreds of dollars for an average shopper, while teens can still feel glamorous on their big day.

Runway is a locally owned and operated store, the flagship retail establishment of LLC Mariella Fashions, who also operates the $10 Shoe Stores located in El Cajon and San Diego (Federal Blvd.). The expansion of the discount retailer has seen great success, and is geared toward proms, weddings and other special events.

“Prom is a special coming-of-age milestone, and Runway is happy to be a small part of the experience,” said Runway Owner Diana Dallo. “We want people to look and feel great and have the full glamorous experience without have worrying how much they spent on their outfit or accessories!”

The store has hundreds of great styles, but below are a few favorites that aim to dazzle at any school dance:

Conveniently located at 2518 Jamacha Rd. (next to Ross in Rancho San Diego), the upscale looking boutique features many of the same products as major retailers at a fraction of the price, including an array of jewelry, make up, shoes, purses, clothing and holiday trinkets. The store décor is modern, trendy and very inviting, and offers a wide selection of styles for every taste.

“Don’t panic at the last minute if you don’t have shoes and accessories to match your dress, just stop in and we will make sure you look like a princess for your big day!” said Dallo.
