McCrary reportedly beat and  strangled the 29 year-old victim to unconsciousness. When she regained consciousness, McCrary held her and her three minor children against their will, preventing them from calling  authorities.

The suspect convinced the victim to drive him to a La Mesa Trolley stop, despite her condition. She was transported via ambulance to Grossmont Hospital for her injuries. The Sheriff’s Department was notified and members of the Sheriff’s Domestic Violence Unit were called in to investigate.

A search has been underway since the assault. So far he has managed to elude capture.  The San Diego Sheriff requests the public’s assistance in locating McCrary. McCrary is known to frequent the Linda Vista area of San Diego, however he could be anywhere in the County.
