New Bus Line Runs Between SDSU and Downtown

June 9, 2013 (San Diego) – SANDAG will hold evening open house meetings on Monday and Thursday this week to inform the community about the upcoming construction of the Mid-City Rapid Bus Project. Mid-City Rapid will be a high-frequency, limited-stop bus service between San Diego State University and Downtown San Diego via Park and El Cajon Boulevards.

The $44.5 million project, scheduled to begin construction later this month, includes building bus-only lanes on Park Boulevard, new stations with customized shelters and next bus arrival signs, improved sidewalks and crosswalks, new landscaping, street lights, and traffic signals, as well as installing fiber optic lines to improve traffic flow along El Cajon Boulevard. A fleet of new low-floor, natural gas-powered buses will serve the route. For more information about the project, visit http://www.KeepSanDiegoMoving.com/MidCityRapid.
