April 20, 2010 (La Mesa) – Dean Calbreath, a business columnist/reporter for the San Diego Union-Tribune, was part of the Pulitzer Prize-winning team that exposed bribery by former Congressman Duke Cunningham. Calbreath will speak on Wednesday, May 5th at the La Mesa-Foothills Democratic Club meeting.
Calbreath is an acute observer of local and national economic and political issues. His coverage of the Cunningham case resulted in the former Congressman being sentenced to serve eight years in prison.
The meeting will be held at the La Mesa Community Center, 4975 Memorial Drive, La Mesa. Social time starts at 6:30, with the program at 7 p.m. The meeting is free and open to the public.
