PURSE ROBBERY NEAR GROSSMONT CENTER; SUSPECTS FLED IN SILVER VEHICLE

October 27, 2012 (La Mesa) – Last night around 7:35 p.m., a male suspect robbed a female or her purse as she walked near Grossmont Center shopping mall in La Mesa. The suspect grabbed her purse from behind near the the intersection of Grossmont Center Drive and Healthcare Drive.  The victim lost her balance in the struggle and fell to the ground but declined medical treatment.

The suspect entered a silver, two-door vehicle that was being driven by another male.

The vehicle was last seen driving northbound on Grossmont Center Drive.  Officers searched the surrounding areas, but were unable to locate the suspects or the vehicle.

Suspect #1 is described as a black male, 5’9”-5’11”, athletic build, wearing a blue polo shirt and dark pants.

Suspect #2, the driver of the vehicle, was described as a black male. No further details could be provided.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the La Mesa Police Department.
