July 16, 2017 (San Diego’s East County) — Brandon Worley, a parolee at large wanted in connection to a stolen assault rifle, was captured today following a pursuit through El Cajon, Rancho San Diego, Alpine and Descanso.

A Sheriff’s investigator provided information on Worley’s location to deputies, who attempted to stop his vehicle at 9:25 this morning.  Worley fled, leading officers on a pursuit at speeds up to 79 miles per hour, says Sergeant Miguel Lopez with the Santee Sheriff’s substation.

Spike strips were deployed, disabling both tires on the driver’s side, but Worley kept driving on the disabled tires until finally surrendering on Viejas Grade Road in Descanso.

He was booked for an outstanding parole violation, felony evasion of arrest, and other unrelated charges.
